URBANA - Carol Anne Kubitz passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.Carol was born on March 15, 1938, in Champaign, the daughter of Ralph and Vera (Kellogg) Hay.She graduated from Urbana High School and attended the University of Illinois, where she received a bachelor's degree in education. In 1960, Carol married William (Bill) Kubitz, whom she met at University Theater at the UI. She first taught third grade at Lincoln School, and then at Cooperative Nursery School for many years. Following that, she worked as a graphic artist for the UI School of Life Sciences until her retirement.She is survived by her daughter, Emily (Michael) Hoffman of Kirkland, Wash.; a son, James (Kimberly) Kubitz of Lawrenceburg, Ind.; and five grandchildren, Curtis (Adrian) Hoffman of Thorp, Wash., Drew Hoffman of Long Beach, Calif., and Anna, Evan and Leah Kubitz of Lawrenceburg, Ind.
