MONTICELLO - William "Bill" A. Jobe passed away Nov. 29, 2024, at the Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello.Bill was born to Violet and William Jobe on June 8, 1941, in Lexington, Ky. His mom later married Gene Anglin in March 1950.Bill graduated from Champaign Central High School in 1959. Bill enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1958 and served until 1966. Bill was a Champaign police officer from 1962-1998.Surviving are his wife, Tracy (Dilley) Jobe, of 43 years; sons, William A. Jobe Jr. and Brad Jobe; sisters Phyllis Reed of Danville, Jeanine Bennett of Oakwood and Norma May of Florida; and brother, Red Anglin of Mahomet.Bill was preceded in death by his parents, stepdad and sisters Jackie Dobbs and Lena Spitnale. Graveside services will be on April 11 at 2 p.m. at Eastlawn Cemetery, 802 N. Cunningham Ave., Urbana.
