CHAMPAIGN - Darlene Carder, 87, of Champaign, died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.She was born Aug. 12, 1937, to Carl and Mae Wilske.Darlene had many close friends with whom she maintained friendships for decades.She loved shopping, enjoyed traveling in earlier years and she absolutely loved butterflies.Darlene married James O'Neill in 1954 and was married until his death in 1980.In 1984, she married Richard Carder, and they were married until 2019, when he passed away. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard Carder, sister Leila, brother Frederick, and most recently her brother Joe Wilske. She is survived by her son James O'Neill, daughter Victoria O'Neill Tucker, and daughter Patricia O'Neill.In accordance with family wishes, Darlene will be cremated and no services will be conducted.Condolences may be offered at www.owensfuneralhomes.com.
