CHAMPAIGN - Norman Karl Stenzel, 88, of Champaign passed away at 2:55 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 18, 2024) at the Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello.There will be no public services at this time. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, 1900 S. Philo Road, Urbana, is assisting the family with cremation arrangements.Norman was born on May 31, 1936, in Avenel, N.J., the son of Alexander Karl Johannes and Eva Anastasia (Bogdanowicz) Stenzel. He married Alice Ann Gorden on March 20, 1990, and she survives.Also surviving are two children, Jules Wolf Stenzel of Madison, Wis., and Erich Alexander Stenzel of Chicago; as well as a niece, Dawn Diane Dickenson; and three granddaughters, Flora Lucia Hayes, Anneliese Helena Stenzel and Alessandra Sophia Hayes.He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Eveline Stenzel.Norman was a New Jersey-born, midwestern farm-raised boy.
